Ingredients
  

For the Beef Mixture
  • 1 pound Lean Ground Beef can substitute ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 medium Onion diced; use yellow or white onions
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced; garlic powder can be used if fresh is unavailable (½ tsp)
For the Casserole Base
  • 2 cups Cooked White Rice use leftover rice
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup can substitute with cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup Milk or Beef Broth to thin the soup
For the Cheesy Topping
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese consider using a cheese blend for variety
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika for smokiness and color
Seasoning Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper to taste
Optional Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Parsley for freshness and color

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the lean ground beef and diced onion. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until the meat is browned and the onions are soft.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk or beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. In the skillet with the beef mixture, add the cooked rice and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Pour the prepared sauce over and stir well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish, spread it evenly, and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top. Cover with foil.
  7. Bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Optionally garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
