- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef for about 4–5 minutes until browned. Add the diced onion and cook for another 3 minutes, then stir in minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a slow cooker. Add the diced potatoes, sliced carrots, chopped celery, drained beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Add Worcestershire sauce and chosen spices, stirring gently.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours until the vegetables are tender.
- Remove the bay leaf, adjust seasoning if necessary, and serve warm, garnished with parsley, sour cream, or shredded cheese if desired.
