- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- If using canned green beans, drain them. For fresh beans, blanch them for 3-4 minutes in boiling salted water, then transfer to ice water.
- Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until crispy. Remove bacon and reserve 1 tablespoon of grease.
- In the same skillet, mix melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder over low heat until smooth to make the glaze.
- Layer the green beans in the baking dish, pour the glaze over them, and top with crispy bacon, pressing it into the glaze.
- Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and caramelized. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
