Step-by-Step Instructions for Crazy Good Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles until just al dente, about 6–8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Add the drained egg noodles and shredded chicken into the creamy sauce. Sprinkle in half of the cheddar cheese and half of the optional bacon; stir gently.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with remaining cheddar cheese and bacon if using.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving, then scatter chopped green onions on top.
