- If you choose to enhance flavor, heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Sear the boneless, skinless chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
- In your Crock Pot, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning mix, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
- Carefully place the seared (or raw) chicken breasts into the mixture in the Crock Pot and ensure they are fully submerged.
- Cover the Crock Pot with the lid and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender.
- Once cooking is complete, remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the pot.
- Stir in the sour cream and mix thoroughly until creamy. Allow to warm slightly for the flavors to meld.
