Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup Warm Milk Whole milk or non-dairy milk
  • 2 teaspoons Instant Dry Yeast Active dry yeast can be used if dissolved first
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Large Egg At room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Melted
Filling
  • 2 cups Fresh or Frozen Strawberries Can swap with mixed berries or jam
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
Glaze
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste

Preparation
  1. Combine strawberries with sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes until thickened. Cool and blend into a puree.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk warm milk, egg, and melted butter. Mix wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-8 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, roll out into a rectangle, spread the cooled filling, and roll into a log. Slice into 1-2 inch pieces.
  6. Place the sliced rolls in a greased dish, cover, and let rise for 30-60 minutes until puffed.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Prepare the glaze by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and reserved puree until smooth.
  9. Cool rolls for 10 minutes and glaze them. Serve warm.
