- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a vigorous boil and add your choice of pasta, cooking until al dente for 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add diced onions and bell peppers, sautéing for 5-7 minutes until soft.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste, and a dash of smoked paprika. Cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the sautéed vegetables, 1 cup of lump crab meat, and 1 cup of sour cream. Mix until well incorporated.
- Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread it evenly and top with the cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the dish rest for 5-10 minutes and garnish with fresh chopped green onions before serving.
