Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Peel and mash 2-3 ripe bananas until smooth and creamy, resembling apple sauce.
- Combine the mashed bananas with 1/2 cup each of granulated sugar and brown sugar, and stir in 1/2 cup of melted butter, then add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1/3 cup of cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of salt until combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined; fold in chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
