Ingredients
  

For the Marinade
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce low-sodium for a healthier option
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil or substitute with a neutral oil
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang or mix miso paste with cayenne
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar or honey; maple syrup also works
  • 4 cloves Minced Garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Grated Ginger or ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Flakes optional for added heat
For the Steak
  • 1 pound Steak (Sirloin or Ribeye) ribeye preferred for tenderness
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil high smoke point oil
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Toasted Sesame Seeds for crunch
  • 2 stalks Green Onions sliced for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, gochujang, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and chili flakes until smooth.
  2. Add cubed sirloin or ribeye steak to the bowl, turning to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil. Let the oil shimmer.
  4. Add the marinated steak to the skillet in a single layer. Sear without stirring for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Flip the steak and cook for another 2-3 minutes until desired doneness is reached.
  6. Transfer cooked steak bites to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
