- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and gather all ingredients and equipment.
- In a medium bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Beat the softened cream cheese with 3/4 cup of granulated sugar and a splash of vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, milk, and a pinch of salt in a large mixing bowl and blend until just combined.
- Grease your 9x13-inch baking dish, pour half of the cake batter into it, and spread evenly.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the batter, followed by layering the marinated strawberries on top.
- Cover the strawberry and cream cheese layers with the remaining cake batter, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
