Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Once the water is boiling, carefully add the fresh green beans and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Immediately drain the cooked green beans and plunge them into a bowl filled with ice water.
  4. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat.
  5. Add ½ cup of sliced almonds to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Introduce 1 finely chopped shallot to the skillet and cook until translucent.
  7. Add the drained green beans back into the skillet and toss them with almonds and shallots.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve warm.
