- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the very ripe bananas until mostly smooth, leaving a few small chunks for texture.
- Mix in melted unsalted butter, then add brown and granulated sugars, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir for about 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, folding gently until just combined.
- Fold in three-quarters of the chocolate chips, reserving the rest for topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
