Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the very ripe bananas until mostly smooth, leaving a few small chunks for texture.
  3. Mix in melted unsalted butter, then add brown and granulated sugars, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir for about 2 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, folding gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in three-quarters of the chocolate chips, reserving the rest for topping.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment and cool completely before slicing.
