Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice a small head of cabbage into thick ½ inch rounds and brush both sides with olive oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine your choice of ground beef or turkey with chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and egg if using.
- Shape the meat mixture into patties that fit snugly on the cabbage rounds.
- Place each patty on top of the cabbage rounds on the baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
- For a melty finish, add shredded cheese after baking and broil for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Let cool slightly, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve.
