Cooking Steps
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (162°C). Place the country-style ribs in a shallow roasting pan, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender.
- In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, water, brown sugar, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, celery seed, chili powder, hot pepper sauce, and pepper over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.
- Remove ribs from the oven and pour about 1 cup of the barbecue sauce over them, evenly coating. Allow them to rest for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium heat (about 350°F or 177°C). Drain excess sauce from the ribs and place them on the grill.
- Grill the ribs uncovered for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with remaining barbecue sauce.
- Remove ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve with any remaining barbecue sauce on the side.
