  • 2 cloves Garlic fresh is best, but powder can work
For the Cooking Liquid
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth vegetable broth can be a substitute

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Chop the bacon and cook in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until crispy. Remove bacon, leaving drippings in the pan.
  2. Slice the smoked sausage and brown in the same skillet for about 5 minutes. Transfer sausage to a plate.
  3. Sauté diced onion in the drippings for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  5. Add chopped cabbage with salt and pepper, stirring to combine.
  6. Pour in chicken broth to cover the cabbage. Cover and steam for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Return bacon and sausage to the skillet, stir, and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with parsley if desired.
