Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheets.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, vegetable oil, and sour cream until creamy, then add sugar and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a soft sticky dough forms.
  5. Drop mounds of dough onto prepared sheets using a cookie scoop, flatten slightly, and space them 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. For frosting, cream together the softened butter, milk, and vanilla extract, then gradually add the powdered sugar until smooth.
