- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, oil, and water until smooth.
- Pour half of the chocolate batter into the greased baking dish. In another bowl, mix the strawberries with cream cheese until just combined. Spoon this mixture over the batter, then pour the remaining batter on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare the frosting by mixing the sifted powdered sugar with softened cream cheese until smooth. Spread generously over the cooled cake.
- Slice into squares and serve, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
